Child sexual exploitation
Sexual exploitation of children is child abuse and is completely unacceptable; the only effective way to tackle child sexual exploitation (CSE) is via effective multi-agency and partnership working.
Sexual exploitation of children and young people under 18 involves exploitative relationships, violence, coercion and intimidation. These are characterised in the main by the child or young person’s limited availability of choice resulting from their socio-economic and/or emotional vulnerability.
Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation remains one of the most important challenges for the Safeguarding Children's Boards of Lancashire.
