Fylde District - Partnership Details
The Fylde Community Safety Partnership was established in October 1998 in response to the Crime and Disorder Act of the same year. Fylde is part of the Western Division of the Lancashire Constabulary along with Blackpool.
The current membership of the Partnership is Fylde Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, Police, Primary Care Trust, Probation Service, Fire and Rescue Service, Young Offending Team, Lancashire Drugs Action Team, Police Authority, Neighbourhood Watch Association, Age Concern, Voluntary Sector and Magistrates Court Service.
The Partnership currently operates through a Steering Group which sets direction and policy, a Strategy Group which prepares and oversees the implementation of the Community Safety Strategy and topic groups dealing with issues identified by audit such as Substance Misuse, Young People's Issues, Town Centres, Road and Vehicle Issues and Crime and the Fear of Crime. The Partnership has a statutory duty to produce a Community Safety Strategy every three years. The current Strategy sets out objectives and targets for tackling crime and disorder in the years 2002-2005.
