Pendle - Crime Audit

This Audit provides a thorough examination of all Crime and Disorder issues in Pendle.

Why conduct an audit?

The 1998 Crime and Disorder Act required all Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP) to undertake an audit of crime and disorder in their area every three years. The Audit is designed to highlight areas of concern which will then be addressed in a strategy document.

What is the audit?

The Audit is a review of both the statistical evidence of crime and disorder and the views of the community about levels of crime and disorder.

Who prepared this audit?

This Audit has been prepared by Pendle Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership, with assistance from the MADE (Multi-Agency Data Exchange) Project. Contact details are given at the end of the main report.

Who is the audit for?

This Audit is designed to inform CDRP about crime and disorder issues in its locale, in order to govern its strategy for the next three years. It will be placed on the saferlancashire website for members of the public and interested parties to view.

What is in the audit?

The audit contains data from all the statutory authorities in Lancashire in order to give as broad a picture of crime and disorder problems in the County as possible. Emphasis is given to data from Lancashire Constabulary, but this is supplemented by data from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, British Transport Police, the three local authorities in Lancashire, the Probation Service and the Health Service.

All data is reported at County, District and Ward boundaries as they stand in April 2004. The data has been gathered and collated by the MADE Project. Comparisons have been drawn with most similar CDRP groups and the British Crime Survey. Details on Pendle’s most similar CDRP groups can be found in Appendix B.4. A glossary of terms can be found in Appendix I. This Audit should be read in conjunction with the Lancashire County Audit prepared by the MADE project.

  • Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Substance Misuse
  • Safe and Secure Travel.
  • Ensuring Equality and Diversity
