Ribble Valley - Partnership Details

Community Safety Contacts

The Ribble Valley Community Safety Partnership was formed in response to the Crime & Disorder Act 1998. The main aim of the Partnership is to be responsible for, and add value to, the development and effective delivery of the Ribble Valley Community Safety Strategy. In order to fulfil this aim the Partnership will be required to address community safety issues identified within the Community Safety Audit of the Borough. The Audit is conducted on a 3 yearly basis and provides a detailed picture of the main crime and disorder issues that affect the people of Ribble Valley.

The Partnership also includes representation at various levels from the Youth and Community Service, District Mental Health Team, PCT, Probation Service, YOT, LDAT, Lancashire Police Authority, Victim Support, Magistrate, Community, Parish Councils among others.

The Partnership currently operates through a Steering Group which sets direction and policy; a Partnership Group which oversees and monitors the work of the thematic working groups, and the six Working Groups themselves which look at the following themes: Property Crime; Youth Intervention; Substance Abuse; Road Safety; Road Safety; Violent Crime; Anti Social Behaviour/Criminal Damage.

Each group meets on a quarterly basis to monitor and progress chase each action.
