Wyre District - Crime Audit

The purpose of the Crime and Disorder Audit for Wyre Borough is to:

  • Build a picture of crime and disorder in the Wyre area
  • Review progress of the Wyre Community Safety Partnership in its work towards the targets in the Community Safety Strategy
  • Set out the main findings according to categories and geographic areas
  • Act as a document with which to consult the people of Wyre on their views on a community safety basis
The Crime and Disorder Audit for 2004 has been produced as a result of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. This Act put a statutory duty on local authorities, the police and health authorities to co-operate in the development and implementation of a strategy for tackling crime and disorder in their area.

The Act requires that all strategies span a three-year period and the current strategy is to be in place by April 2005.

This audit is the beginning of that process and will ultimately lead to the production and implementation of the new Community Safety Strategy 2005 to 2008. Wyre Community Safety Patrol want your views on this Community and Development audit and the proposed priority issues to be tackled over the next three years. Previous Crime Audits
