Letter Responding to The Guardian article of 17.10.09

You may have seen the coverage in The Guardian on 17th October (Anti-terrorism strategy spies on innocent) about our Prevent work.
The Government has already responded to the article, reaffirming that the purpose of Prevent is not to spy on innocent people and that the article was wilfully misleading.
We wanted to further reassure you about the intentions of the Prevent programme. We have attached to this letter a detailed response to the points made by The Guardian which we would encourage you to share with your local partners and communities.
