| In July 2002 the Lancashire Countywide Community Safety Website was launched. The SaferLancashire website www.saferlancashire.co.uk was developed to promote the work of each district Community Safety Partnership and link this together with information from other strategic and local partners such as the Lancashire Constabulary, County Council, Connexions, Youth Offending Team, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Drug Action Team, Magistrates Courts, Health etc. etc. The site is organisational neutral and provides a gateway to:-
The key purpose is to provide information to the public and interested bodies, but there is also a restricted area for partners to disseminate and exchange information, to house guidance, inform on funding opportunities etc (Members Access Area). StatementThe Safer Lancashire Website Project Manager, Pam Smith said We in Lancashire are proud of the immense expansion of the SaferLancashire website since its launch in July 2002. It is a clear, comprehensive and easy to use site and provides a host of community safety advice and information to partner agencies, the general public and local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships. Evidence to date reveals that users are making hits within the site averaging 100,000 per month. Working together with our partners is an effective way to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community. |
