Road casualties in Great Britain: quarterly provisional estimates Quarter 3 2007This Department for Transport (DfT) publication includes national statistics on road casualties in Great Britain for the third quarter of 2007, which relate to casualties in accidents reported to the police. The provisional estimates show the number of fatalities in road accidents were down by 5 per cent for the 12 months ending September 2007 compared to the previous 12 months. |
Pupil absence in schools in England, including pupil characteristics: 2006/2007This Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) statistical first release reports on absence in primary, secondary and special schools, city technology colleges and academies during the 2006/07 school year. It is based on pupil level absence data collected via the School Census. |
Reducing the risk of violent crimeThis National Audit Office report reveals that levels of violent crime have fallen by 9.0 per cent since 2002-03 and the number of serious violent offences recorded by the police has fallen by 5.9 per cent over the same period. The report suggests that further action still needs to be taken to improve the delivery of funding to frontline practitioners, and also to articulate their long-term strategic approach to tackling violence. While levels of serious violence have fallen over recent years, they have done so at a slower rate than overall crime levels. |
