Lancashire County Council, Adult and Community Services Directorate, Volunteer Services

is a specialised service for adults. We aim to break/prevent social isolation, promote physical and mental wellbeing and give adults including carers the opportunity to develop a community presence.

We help people of all ages, disabilities, cultures and income levels and their carers - to cope with difficulties in their lives. Volunteers make a valuable contribution to the lives of those they support, their families and carers. The interests and skills of volunteers are valuable assets, they often relate to people on a more personal and flexible level.

Volunteers share their skills, knowledge, leisure time and friendship - providing social isolated adults with companionship/friendship. We have also recognised that carers often need a break, time of their own to do some shopping, visit friends - some "ME" time - knowing the person they care for is being looked after.

If you are interested in joining our dynamic team of volunteers who work throughout Lancashire please contact our Central Administrative Officers on (01257) 248118
